Ça, c'était une nuit récupératrice! Aucun bruit autre que le flot de la rivière qui suit son court. C'est un petit matin frais. La rosée est tombée, mais aucun gel au sol. Comme la journée s'annonce chaude et sèche, nous savons que l'humidité s'évaporera de nos choses durant la journée. Pas de tracas.

Les 16 km nous séparant de Greenwood passent rapidement. À 9h15, nous traversons ce joli petit village qui a gagné la médaille de bronze de la plus belle ville du BC en 2010.

Ensuite, nous entamons la deuxième section de la journée: se rendre à Grand Forks avant le dîner. Mission accomplie grâce à la belle descente parfaite d'au moins 10 km.

Nous rencontrons des gens super gentils. D'abord à l'épicerie et ensuite, devant le centre d'info touristique (fermé le lundi à ce temps-ci. Zut!) Nous discutons avec eux pendant un bon moment. Cela dit, nous quittons la ville de Grand Forks une heure et demie plus tard sans même avoir mangé. Chose que nous faisons quelques km plus loin.

Nous arrivons à Christina Lake vers 14h30. Beaucoup de campings sont encore fermés. Nous trouvons finalement un camping au Park Lane motel & RV resort pour 12$... Chanceux! Il vient à peine d'ouvrir. Comme il annonce des orages avec risque de grêle, le proprio nous offre un petit local pour y mettre nos sacs. Youppi ! Pas de raton dans notre bouffe, ça c'est sûr!

Christina Lake est un bel endroit de villégiature qui attire des tonnes de campeurs en été. Et des campings pour les loger, il y a en a! Le village d'environ 1200 habitants passe de 8000 à 10 000 durant l'été.

On s'est bien étalé!

Cool and crisp morning but it's supposed to get really hot again today, after getting on the road and ridding along a creek that I can't recall the name we get to Greenwood. Our gaol is to get to Grande Forks before lunch and we did it, no problems. We talked with some local people regarding the area and back on the road again destination Christina Lake for the night. Sometime mid afternoon we got there and started to look for a campground, a lots of choices but not all are open. After talking to a couple of locals we made our way the Park lane motel and RV resort, 12$ for the night can't go wrong with that and once again really nice owners. Thunder storm in the forecast tonight, we will see.
