Ventait-il hier? Et bien avec la force du vent du sud-est d'aujourd'hui, j'ai l'impression que nous n'avions qu'une légère brise la veille. En plus d'ajouter du défi à notre journée, un vent qui vient de l'est n'apporte souvent rien de beau: des orages, quoi!
Nous roulons sur la 17B pendant plusieurs km et passons dans quelques petits villages/sections plus habité(e)s avant de prendre une route campagnarde paisible. C'est le trajet qu'André, le proprio de Velorution, a pris le temps de nous expliquer la veille. Il a même imprimé la route et les directions pour nous.
De retour sur la 17, c'est le choc! Il y a beaucoup de trafic qui roule à vive allure et il y a à peine un espace pavé pour circuler à vélo. Nous arrivons à Thessalon vers 15h30 et décidons d'y arrêter pour la nuit. Nous avons une tonne de lavage à faire et plusieurs journées à rattraper sur notre blog.
Avec notre longue pause au "Landromat", nous arrivons trop tard à l'épicerie qui ferme à 18h. Et bien, une autre sortie au resto s'impose. Nous arrêtons à "The Pepper Mill" et avons tous les deux un souper délectable sans compter que la pointe de tarte à Mathieu est gigantesque. Incroyable ce qu'on peut dénicher dans un petit village de 1400 habitants

Wind from the south yesterday. Wind from the east today, where are we heading? East! The 17 being a 4 lane highway for a while east of Sault st marie, we decided to use highway 17b and ride on quiet country roads all morning , as recommended by Andre from Velorution, to avoid all the heavy traffic.
Back on the 17, we realized that from now on this highway is really busy. Not much room for bicycle but we realize that boogies pulled by horses also use the highway in this part of the country, so a slow but skinny bicycle is not that bad on the road.
We got to Thessalon at around 3:30 so we got plenty of time to do our laundry and try to catch up on our Blogs. We got to late at the grocery store, door closed already so we sat down at The pepper mill a really nice restaurant with amazing food and great desserts. Back at the campground a man approached us to warn us about the chance of a thunder storm tonight and offered us to use his RV if the weather get nasty. We went to bed in our little tent and will we will see how bad the weather will be!
